The Chepstow Archaeological Society was formed in January 1996 to explore the Archaeology of Chepstow and the surrounding area. It provides a focus for local people interested in its history and pre-history.

We have a full programme of talks, field visits, training and hands-on archaeology.

We maintain close relationships with other archaeological societies and research organizations such as Monmouth Archaeology, Dean Archaeological Group, the Newport Ship, Glamorgan Gwent Archaeological Trust, University of Wales Cardiff and National Museum Wales.

We publish a regular newsletter for members and are noted for our relaxed, friendly and informal approach.

We meet on the first Thursday of every month from October to April at 7.30pm at Chepstow Conservative Club, 10 Moor Street, Chepstow, NP16 5DD. Suggested parking is in the Co-op Car Park behind the Bus Station.
